The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) recognized its seventh annual Maritime Month during the month of May and National Maritime Day on May 22 to pay tribute to the region’s rich maritime history and to honor the hardworking men and women of the local maritime industry.

“During Maritime Month we shine a special light on the dedicated maritime and logistics workers who keep the Port NOLA gateway strong,” said Brandy D. Christian, President and CEO of Port NOLA and CEO of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB). “Maritime Month is also an opportunity to focus on our greatest natural resource: the Mississippi River. It fuels international commerce and generates jobs and revenue for Louisiana.”

Port NOLA partnered with WWL-TV for the seventh consecutive year and hosted WWL-TV’s Morning News show for a live broadcast from the Mississippi River onboard the General Roy S. Kelley Fireboat on May 22. Click the link below for more information and to watch Port NOLA's TV segments.
