At this time, we would like to make sure you are aware of the potential impacts of Hurricane force winds, storm surge, and heavy rains with flooding in the Port of New Orleans Area as a result Hurricane Sally. Please see our updates are below.
Current Operational Update:
We completed our storm preparations today, Monday 9-14-2020. We expect the weather to deteriorate tonight with tropical force winds and rain with dangerous conditions throughout Tuesday, September 15th.
Our Offices and Terminals will be CLOSED on Tuesday, September 15th. We will remain closed until we feel that it is safe for employees to return to work. At this time, we do anticipate on reopening on Wednesday, September 16th but this will need to be confirmed tomorrow evening.
Port of New Orleans Terminal Operations: New Orleans Terminals and Ports America are closed until further notice. *Weather permitting*, operations are expected to resume as normal on Wednesday, September 16.
The NOPB Rail operations in and out of New Orleans are now suspended between the NOPB and the Class 1 carriers like BNSF, CSX, CN, KCS, NS and UP.
Vessel Operations: The Coast Guard has set Port condition to ZULU, for commercial marine traffic. The Port is closed at this time for all traffic. Please check with your SS Lines on your bookings in the event these cut offs need to be adjusted.
