September 7, 2021 FINAL UPDATE Hurricane Ida

Dear valued employees, customers, and vendors:


Here is our last formal update on impacts of Hurricane Ida on our operations. We do want to again thank all of you who have been connecting with us over the last week. We all appreciate your support, kind thoughts and prayers. While we continue to work though some of the issues in our community that have resulted from Hurricane Ida, we want you to know that our focus remains on providing a safe and efficient operation for you here in the Port of New Orleans Gateway. We will be in touch and available to you always should you have any further questions.


KCO - Operational Status Report:

As of September 7th, 2021; all our facilities are open and operational. We do have some latent power outages that we are working through, however, for the most part we are fully operational for all the services we provide in New Orleans. With only a few exceptions, all facilities are shipping and receiving currently. Our employees have been able to return to work for the most part as well.

Hurricane Ida - Terminal Operations Timeline Recap

  • Hurricane Ida Landfall – Sunday, August 29, 2021

  • Container terminal operations were closed August 30, 2021 – September 6, 2021.

  • Container terminal operations resumed a limited gate (no full exports received) on September 7, 2021.

  • Container terminal operations resumes full operations on September 8, 2021.

Rail Operations:

NOPB Rail operations have RESUMED with modified hours of operations between 7:00 am – 11:00 pm to connect with BNSF, CN, CSX, KCS, NS, and UP.
