Due to freezing weather and significant snow accumulation creating unsafe conditions, the Port of New Orleans’ freeze plan remains in place. Water flow to our terminals was shut down Sunday and is expected to resume Thursday once temperatures and conditions improve.
Both Ports America and New Orleans Terminal will be updating their customer portals (links below). Trucking companies are advised to closely monitor these bulletins for terminal updates. The Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal and its gates will remain closed Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22, 2025, until conditions improve.
Additionally, due to unsafe operating conditions, the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) has temporarily discontinued rail service until weather conditions permit the safe return to full operations.
The Port NOLA and NOPB emergency preparedness team will continue to monitor the weather and will provide needed updates.
Saturday (1/25) gate operations will be pending terminal operator’s confirmation (likely tomorrow). Â
